K, about a year ago i bought an audiovox 4000 cell phone from verizon wireless (then bell atlantic) about 6 months into ownership it started giving me problems, with cutting out and shutting off mysteriosly, or after hitting a key. brought it to the wirless store, they sent it in for repair,
got it back,
2 weeks later back into the shop again, month later got it back again, few weeks later, back into the place, they lend me a phone, and ship it back to audiovox for replacement.
weeks later, get back older model than my phone, they don't make mine any more. 2 weeks later that one starts doing the same cutting out with the hit of a button again, now its about december.
i suffer thru it, also find that cleaning the contacts on the battery helps sometimes. one day go to do that, find the 3 screws under the battery are gone. no idea where they went. using a strip of ductape around the bottom, it seems to be working ok,

now its january, store says,, that once i've been a customer of verizon for a year, I'm eligible for a trade in from verizon (after all this S$!t i should get a new one for free right?) well im game for buying a new phone any way, want one that'll do wireless web... the motorola vulcan looks nice, but $399 soo im waiting till tax return comes in.
Also the wireless zone is nice enough to give me a "water damaged phone" to canabalize for screws, because having it held together seems to help. well after an hour of fiddling with the parts, i realize that having screw 'sdoesn't help, and the "water damaged phone" seems to work ok. I try swapping the circuit boards around maliciously, and no mater what combination i try the main board that contains my phones number and memory is the one that works worst. and the water dameged one works fine. if only i could switch my number to the "water damaged phone. i could probly go back to them and have them do it, but i think they'd charge me. If phone thiefs can do it, could I? i mean well is it possible? would it be moral? any one ever done it?
