Verizon and private calls...

OK, got a question that I hope is a simple fix. My work issued cell phone (Motorola V60i) that I've had for over a year does not send the phone number when I place calls. For example, if I call my wife's phone, she gets the message "Private Number" and not my phone number. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, and hasn't been since I've had the phone. More recently, however, people are starting to block private numbers. So now I'm not able to reach certain people I have to call frequently because of this. I can't call Verizon and speak with a rep because, since it's a corporate account, they need the account number and password. Our companies cell phone person has been unable to help with this issue as well.

My personal cell (with Cingular) gives me an option in a menu to send or not send my number, but I can't find this option in this V60i phone. I'm wondering if perhaps it's a feature that is activated/deactivated by dialing a * or # code from the phone, but I've not been able to find a list of these codes on the net.

So, if anyone can give me a fix to this problem I'd really appreciate it!!

Probably T-Mobile only, but using prefix *31# transmits the number on a per-call basis. There is probably a similar prefix for Verizon.

bump again... BUT,

I'm not sure what model phone a coworker has, but it should be under tools>in call setup> something about my phone id.. there's something about showing and hiding ID... it should be around there? have you tried cycling through all the menus?

Yeah, we've went through all the menus....3 of us IT guys standing around all looking at our phones trying to figure it out. It was quite amusing. Turns out that I can dial a *82 before the number and then it sends. Finally got someone on the phone that would help. They are looking on a fix so I don't have to dial that first.

Well they fixed it. The rep that was actually helpful said it was some SID issue not machine with some ID# in the phone. Beats me, but at least now it works.
