I'm debating if I should get the HTC Thunderbolt or wait a little longer for the Motorola Bionic. Anyone else waiting to switch to the new Verizon 4g service?

I'm leaning towards the Thunderbolt right now, because I can't wait any longer. And I like the aesthetics better. But I won't decide until I use one.

Bionic. The Bionic's specs are revolutionary. The HTC's specs are just an incremental upgrade.

Yeah but the Bionic is moto.. and given their track record, if you want to do anything useful with your phone you probably shouldn't bother with it. Get the TB and then wait until next year's offerings imo.

I am up for an upgrade (as of 2/3/11) and I really want to wait.. but I don't know how much longer I can last with my Samsung Omnia, running Windows Mobile 6.1.

Hmm Bionic has a higher res screen and dual core CPU, but I wonder how the battery life will be.

The only thing I'm worried about is I want the ability to root with as minimal of pain as possible, but a little work won't bother me. But a locked bootloader, not cool.

Problem is, Motorola also has a track record of amazing phones in terms of quality: good hardware and great build quality.

My Droid 1 is still absolutely amazing, but I'd like to get current tech, and specifically 4G (though my region won't have it for awhile, most likely). I just want to be able to do what I want with it, and so far that seems TBD with all the Verizon 4G phones.

I've been anxiously awaiting the Thunderbolt since Thanksgiving and cannot wait to pick one up this month (hopefully sooner than later). I would pick up the Bionic if it were coming out first, but that is not the case. Verizon's website says I am covered by 4G, but I am more excited to have an Android phone that I can customize and install apps on than anything else. I can't wait to get rid of my BB Storm 1.
