Hi, I have never used 4g LTE before. Typically a CDMA phone needs to be activated by the device unique ID for 3g service. However, LTE uses a SIM card.
So does that mean for Verizon LTE devices that there is essentially 2 activations
- One for the 3g service (tied to the device unique ID)
- One for the 4g LTE service (tied to the SIM that is inserted into your device)
The reason I ask - If I were to get an iPad with LTE, could I swap my SIM out and put it into a Verizon LTE Mifi - If so, would that give the mifi only 4g service, or 4g + 3g?
Thanks!
