Verizon 3G Speed Issue

So I am having some speed issues specifically my upload is about 1mbps and my download is usually below 300kbps. I called verizon they gave me some run around and said theyll forward it to their tech dept and give me a call back. The last thing they said to do was to format my phone and I told them that it only changed a couple days ago. Btw this was about two weeks ago. My question is the upload suppose to be that high and the download that low I would think the other way around? Any clarification woould be helpful.

Have you tried the *228 option 2 to try and "re-synch" your 3G.

What are you using to measure your speed?

I have done option 1 and 2 with the *228. Also have done it in different locations with atleast 2 to 3 bars of service. I am using the speedtest.net app on my moto droid 2.

That is weird...it seems backwards to me. The "bars" are only for phone service and correlate to 3G coverage.

Have you taken it into a store yet? They can't avoid you that way

I guess I will have to as there is no other way to avoid it. I noticed a difference when I was in the mall a few weeks ago all of a sudden my web page loading speed dropped. I ignored it and attributed it to being inside where I do not always get the best coverage in there. Few days passed and it stayed the same. I ran the speedtest app and it came back with those results.

Unless I was pushing out hundreds of emails I don't know why I would need to have more upload then download speed.

have you tried just restarting your phone?

not to state the obvious, but make sure your wifi is turned off when running speedtest...

Yes I have reset it with the power button and by pulling the battery. No the wifi was not on when running the speedtest.
