In a small business network we're running Veritas Backup 10 on a win2003 machine (our exchange server) and we're backing it up along with our linux file-server (newest version of Red Hat, I think).
Our vendor is now telling us that the backup 10 they just sold us (they also sold us the rest of the network) doesn't have a linux client. Why does it need one? Can't it just backup the data on the linux computer just as any other mapped network drive?
I know nothing of linux, so just trying to get a feel for what they mean.
or, maybe they're just referring to the part of the backup of the linux computer that backus up the O/S and other system files.
