Verification Tool for CDR's?

Is there a tool that can be used to verify information burnt onto a CD-R? I backed up an image of my hard drive, and some temporary files got included that could not be backed up. What happened was that it created the file and just filled it with random data. Then when it was finished, it got to 99% complete and then said there was an error. I'm just wondering if it said that because of the .tmp files, or if there was actually a problem writing to the disc. I've since used it and it seems perfect in every way, but then again I most likely haven't accessed all 583MB of data I put on it...
