Verification of Office XP Student Version

How do they verify whether you qualify for the student/teacher version of Office XP? My girlfriend works in the Admissions Office of a big university, I'm hoping that will be good enough. How hard is it to get it activated?

there is no verification, per se. i would just have have to show my student id card at my bookstore to get it from school. btw if u are following the letter of the law the box says "students and teachers". but i think faculty are admissible as well. M$ does no "student" verification itself.

During the installation process you will need to insert your student ID card into the CD drive.

(just kidding - please do not insert objects into you CD drives)
