Was checking out some of the Steam deals when I came across this game, Verdun.

Verdun is a squad based multiplayer first person shooter set in the first world war. Inspired by the infamous battle of Verdun in 1916 players are able to take part in never seen before WWI action. Made by 3 indie developers from BlackMill and M2H. Game Features in a nutshell Unique World War One setting.

Dang, that looks pretty decent. I think I'll pick it up, since it's so cheap anyway, thanks for the heads up!

I've been hoping that a World War I game that was done well would come out. It seems like an untapped period of history, but I'm guessing that's because of the rather static nature of the warfare for most of the war. But there can be plenty of interesting things to add to a game based on it if the devs are creative. I'll have to report back once I get back home and play it (at my parents for the holidays).
