I was wondering if anybody knew what the differnces are between the DataLife and ValuLife CD-Rs that are offered by verbatim? I can't see to find the answer on the Verbatim website. I've used both and they both work, but the ValuLifes are unbranded, that is they have a plain white label on top which I like. Though i'm thinking they are of poorer quallity of some sort as they don't have the Dark Blue Dye on the bottom that i guess is the Metal Azo technology. The ValuLifes have a light greenish tinit to it, but bascially silver.

So does anybody know what the difference is in recording quality? Is the valuLife infirror in some way?

Thanks!

www.cdmediaworld.com should give ya all the info you need :) but as for my 2c, the darker quality dye has less glare and reflects less, making it more stable to read under a lazer. Also, the valulife CDr's, the white coating scratches off much more easily then then the higher quality ones, making them unreadale (which you can distinguish the difference from when holding up two CD's to a light- the one that light shines through is cheap).

I've got some Datalife's here, they are white on top and silver underneath. The ones I've had the best luck with are the dark blue Azo dye discs, I forget what Verbatim calls them. These ones I have here are okay but I don't think theyre as good as the Azo's. If your looking for Azo discs Mitsubishi has their own brand name ones, they actually run the factory that makes all Verbatims Azo discs.

Thanks for the replys. I like the CD-Rs with white tops because i can write more show information on it, as i collect live recordings of bands. Plus it makes all my CD's look the same, which isn't a big deal but it is nice.

I looked at the www.cdmediaworld.com website, but it sems to not have been updated for a while as the don't list any 24x media from Verbatim and they don't metion the valulifes as far as i can find.

Oh well I'll just take a trip to best buy and see what they have in the form of unbranded CD-Rs as i know the better CD-Rs come from Sony, TDK and Verbatim.
