At least they're cheaper than the $10-$15 ea various sources have claimed they would cost 🙂

I just spoke with a representative at Americal and she told me that the May 26th date is when Verbatim will be shipping the product to Americal. I'd estimate 1-2 weeks before the product ships to you. The price seems to be competitive at $5.50 each, where I suspected $10-12 each.

I expected $5-$7/each. 😀

I'm not getting a DL burner until the media prices are reasonable: ~$1.60/each in qty will make me upgrade.

The 4x Verbatim DataLife Plus DVD+R that I have used are awesome with no problems yet. Especially compared to some POS CompUSA media I've bought in the past. Anyone know if Verbatim's DL media is also supposed to be of high quality?

Verbatim is almost always of good quality, no matter what the media. I would expect nothing less from DVD+DL

Ditto that. It will just be a matter of time before DL media drops in price.

DVD DL is going to be pretty nice once it comes down in price. How's the compatibility with current generation consumer dvd players?
