Ok. So I am at work all night sunday night. Call my wife at 6 am to talk to her before she goes to work. She decides to tell me that my pc is off. My monitor is off with the little light flashing orange and green. So I am like great. I have been eyeing a big screen for a while now and getting ready to go and get one on monday morning and surprise her when she gets home with it. So I go home, and start looking at it. Try all the normal stuff. Then open her up and pull everything except the video card, cpu and motherboard. Fire it up, nothing. The fans wont even kick over. So I pull the video card, nothing. The fans still dont kick over. So I am like sh1t. So I go buy a new case because I had a generic one and I wanted to upgrade that anyways. So I pick up this Antec case that has a 430 true power power supply in it and take it home. Plug everything into it. Fire it up, nothing. The fans still dont kick over. So I am like sh1t again. So I go back to the store (keep in mind my favorite shop is 20 minutes away and I drive a Dodge Ram gas guzzler) and he doesnt have a nf7s so I pick up the Asus A7n8x deluxe. The board I have at home already is the non deluxe. So I take it home and plug it up and all i get is this beep beep beep beep beep beep beep. The fans run and stuff but no video or nothing. So i pull all the power cords out of all the drives and stuff and fans and leave just the video card (9500 non pro sapphire) plugged in and try to fire it up. The it dont run at all. So I pull out the old trusty pci video card and plug it in and boom. I got video and my system is posting. So I am wondering what went wrong with it all. But I kinda have a hunch. I think the sapphire took it all down. I have plenty of power off the psu. But the motherboard is dead. So is the video card. So, now that I have spent close to 400 because newegg isnt in my back yard I am a little pissed.
So I get all of this installed. I have nothing but problems reinstalling all the software drivers again. So needless to say, I have now reformatted and reinstalled xp. God I hate it when this happens. What a pain in my 4ss. There goes the TV. There goes my christmas. What a time for all this to happen.

So here is my new rig

Amd Barton 2500/3200
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
512 Dual Channel Corsair XMS PC 3200
Maxtor 80G 8 Mb Cache
ATI Radeon 9600 Non Pro
All Wrapped In A Nice Gun Metal Grey Antec

I will never buy Sapphire again...

all i can say is sorry...

and next time borrow parts from people and trouble shoot what went wrong before buying new parts

oh well im a broke college kid so that is what i would do at least

Why don't you just rma the stuff that broke? Those components don't sound out of date at all. You could probably send them back for fixed ones.

yea I am. I just hate to have to go thru it all. Even if I sell them all here I wont make my money back. But, if i egay it. HMMMMM

BTW, one of the best thing I like about the late ASUS motherboards, is the audio at boot. If you plug in speakers in the back (not the internal speaker), and boot it would have said something like "video card failed". At least it tells me when my ram fails and other things, like cpu failed to overclocking, and goes back to stock or XP1500 settings or something
