When people refer to Venomous X, are they referring to standard or RT version typically?

Also, what is the difference between Venomous X and Megahalem? They look identical.

Performance wise, they're very similar. I'd just buy whatever that's cheapest between the 2.

the main difference is that first off, the megahalems has a gap down the center, allowing more space in a push/pull config for the pull fan to suck inn a small amount of additional air, and the mounting mechanism on the ven-x has the better mounting pressure. i personally would get the ven-x if i were getting a new cooler, but vs my 2500 grit lapped megahalems its not worth the upgrade here, just not a big enough difference to warrant spending another $70ish lol

RT is just a signifier by TR (used on most of their high-end coolers) that the model includes a fan and fancy schmancy plastic fan holder (instead of wire clips). To tell the difference, look for clues like "with the stock fan" or "which fan should I use for..."

Performance of the cooler itself and mounting system is the same.

Venomous X and Megahalem are very close, as suggested before base your decision on price (if the Megahalem is a lot cheaper), or even something as basic as which one you think looks better.

Wasn't there a problem with the venemous Heatsinks causing warping due to their pressure system?

Haven't had any issues with mine so far. I like that the Ven-X is slimmer than the Mega. I can use a standard 120mm fan without blocking any of my motherboards 6 DIMM slots.

Not that I recall but I don't like how the heatsink can move freely even with all that pressure. It should have a positive locking system like the Mega and TRUE Rev. C even has it!
