ive got a 3200 winnie that i can get to 2.2 on water (bad chip i guess) would a move to a 3000 or 3200 venice be wise? i have heard some good things about them but im not exactly sure of the differences

Even most Venice 3000+s can reach 2.5 GHz, while good ones can do 2.7+. If your winnie only does 2.2, then it's a pretty bad chip. Sell it to someone not interested in OCing and pick up a new or used Venice (that is proven to OC well) if you want to see a slight increase in performance. Otherwise, wait until the X2s fall in price and get one of those when the time comes.

Venice is exactly the same as Winchester except with SSE3 instructions enabled. So unless you REALLY want a better OC, just stick with what you have.

^Bad idea. His chip was probably a bad batch if he can only get 2.2 with H2O. Drop down to a 3000+ Venice OR wait for the lower-end X2's to come out.

my mobo is a neo2 plat rev 1A i heard alot of bad stuff about this revision could this play into the bad oc? and i thought venice chips had a better memory controler or somethen (i duno if that makes sense)
