Hi,
I saw that on E-wiz there is a AMD64 3200+ Venice core, E6 stepping. However, an E3 stepping of the same processor is on newegg about 190$. Does anybody know why such a difference ?

Thanks,
Ionut

Because newegg doesnt always have the best prices on items.....E3 supposedly overclock better, but I doubt thats their reasoning. Its just priced higher. Ewiz is good. Their chips are the newer ones, which apparently do not OC as well. 2.5ghz is still fine though imo. $130 is a great. Still dropping ;p Personaly, if youre looking for an oem proc right now to OC, id wait for some reviews of the opertons.

Unfortunately I have to make a move this week and I don't think I'm going to see some reviews of E6 stepping very soon. The thing is I saw the 190$ price for E3 stepping on almost all the sites and only on ewiz 130$. I admit it's a great price, but it also makes me think there is something wrong with their offer.

However, if I'd be sure the E6 processor is ok, it wouldn't mind to buy it even if it doens't OC the same as E3. After all.. let's say I can overclock the E6 at 2400Ghz and E3 at 3000Ghz (maximum). Would be at most 600 Mhz for 60 bucks ..

EDIT: well, I might have found the answer myself:

At 130$ you can find only the processor, no cooler included:
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=A64-3200BW

And for 185$ you get it boxed with a cooler:
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=A64-32BWBX

Even so, for 55$ you can take a better cooler than what they provide..

Bought the e6 from ewiz. OCed to 2500mhz with an x90 and panaflo. Quite good for $130. I don't think e3s are seeing much more than 2700mhz on average...

go with the e6, it may not overclock as well as the e3 but at ewiz it is far cheaper and a better bang for the buck. I have an E6 oc'd at 2.61 /w 1.65 v. 24 hour prime stable.
