Could someone fill me in about the new Venice cores?

How do they stack up compared to the Winchesters?

They OC slightly better than the Winnies on average.

They also allow you to run 4 dimms of double-sided RAM @ DDR400 2T rather than 333 2T with all the previous CPUs.

A 3000+ venice typically goes to 2.5-2.6 ghz, 2.7+ if you are lucky. This is on air.

My half-assed OC
I have some outstanding issues that need to be resolved before I can really push it. What I dont get is the voltage being so low. CPU only hits 40C under full load (prime95) and moderate cooling in case. I have a new PSU on order to hopefully rectify some of the outstanding issues. But overall, with what little effort I put into this OC and an 800+mhz return, I'd say its impressive.

@ 1.36 @ 2600 mhz that's an awesome chip.. You will be able to get 2.8ghz

What is the week/stepping of the chip?

Dunno exactly
is there a way to tell without looking on-chip? CPU-Z doesnt show it does it?
I'm amazed at the 1.36 volt thing. I just dont get it.

Edit: d'uh I'm stupid. CPU-Z shows some of this. Right on the link I posted. Date though?
