Hi I am buying a new AMD 3500+ computer. here is the spec :

MD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2 GHz CPU
PC, Sun - Socket 939 - Bus 1600 MHz - 512 KB L2 Cache -

ATI RADEON X800 XL 256MB PCI-E

Corsair Value Select 1024MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory 160

DFI nForce4 4X (939) LANPARTY UT nF4-D
or
MSI RS480M2-IL. ( I don't know yet)

About the processor, there are many name on it : Venice, Clawhammer,Newcastle,Windchester.

What are the differences? Which one is the best? Should I get a particular one?

I will be mostly playing video game( WoW, Half-life 2) and play poker on my computer. Also, ( complementary) I will probably set double to quadruple monitor( I don't think it changes something though).

san diego is best.
Clawhammer = 130nm
Newcastle = 130nm
130nm is less efficient and hotter. These are older cores.
Venice and San Diego are newer, and are 90nm.
These run colder and more efficiently, and they use sse3.
The San Diego core has a bigger cache, therefore, more speed.
