Venice BIOS Update Question

Ok, I know that the mobos need a BIOS update to support the Venice chips. Can the BIOS be flashed with the Venice in there already or do I need to borrow another 939 and flash it and then stick the Venice in there?

You might want to pay your vender an extra $10 to do it for you. I don't believe anyone knows which boards will post with the venice, as few people have the cpu.

o1die is correct. You can purchase a pretested mb and a Venice combo from Monarchcomputers.
I purchased an EPoX 9NPA+Ultra a few weeks ago and asked their tech support the same question. Their reply today was that it would post with the Venice. From my mb's serial number they may have been able to determine if it had their updated 3/22/05 bios with Rev.E CPU support or it may post with the Venice but needs the new bios for full Rev. E support.

Monarch is the way to go if you are wary of things not working/going bad. Just get the 6 month warranty for an extra $10.
