Venice 3000+ vs Clawhammer 3700+ (value system)

My 1.5 Tbird died March04, but put up a pretty good long fight, even handling the UT2k4 demo.

I just saw the Clawhammer 3700+ on mwave.com for $230. I was about to put together this system:

Option #1
$230 for the 3700 + $55 (Chaintech ZNF3 mobo) = $285

I recently heard the 3000+ Venice is the new O/Cers price/performance king. So this made me think of option #2

Option #2
$150 for the 3000 + $59 (Chaintech S1689 mobo) = $209

So the Venice is roughly $75 cheaper and offers the S939 upgrade path (I'm going Chaintech b/c I read good reviews and will be temporarily using my former Ti4200 before upgrading video next). I'd also prefer to go stock retail air cooling on the Venice and just hope for 2.4 for an equal comparison (not sure if that's being too optimistic..)

I'm open to recommendations, thanks!

I'd say probably the 2nd option...

BUT HOLY COW, $230 for the 3700+! I might have to sell my 3200+ for like $150 and pick up the 3700+ 😀

So basically there's "definite air 2.4ghz", $75 savings, 939 upgrade path, and SSE3 going the Venice route over the Clawhammer route. Seems like a no brainer..
