Got my 3000 to 280x9=2.5GHz (prime95 stable) at 1.45v on an MSI NEO2 Platinum. It fails to boot at 300x9 at 1.45v but I didn't want to up the votage just yet so I'll stick with this OC for now. Idle is about 43 degrees and full load doesn't go over 55 degrees. Is 55 degrees too high?

My Geil pc3200 value ram is running at 2.5-3-3-5 2T at 233MHz(DDR466) at 2.75v. Is that any good? Anything I should change. The memory is rated up to 2.95v.

up the volts.

1.55v is PERFECTLY safe, and you should have no concerns..

Looks like you got a solid 2.6ghz + in that chip..

:D

I run ALL my DDR 3200 @ 2.75-2.8v especially when using multiple sticks.

Well...I just sorta wanted to give the CPU like a burn-in period...just for my peace of mind. Then once I know everything works really well I was gonna up the voltage.

Are those temps okay? I heard that the MSI Neo2 reported temps wrong? Has that been fixed in the bios?

Meh, it seems some of the Neo2s have bad temp sensors (like mine), & others don't.

1.55V is fine for vcore BTW.

I have a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor (Venice) @ 2.7 GHz, stock air; 1.55V. My temps are in the 50's. I am thinking about getting a XP-90 heatsink to lower the temps though.

Just bought a ASRock 939DUAL-SATA2 with a venice 3000+ Should be here next week. I'll update this thread to see what i can get out of the board. I hear 1.55v is the max it can handle with the current bios so it should be enough to get 2.6-2.7 :) i hope.

Burn-in period? Can somebody enlighten me on that?

I'm running at 300x9 at 1.56 volts, Prime stable for 18 hours.

As for burn in, some people believe that letting computer components "burn in" improves performance after the process is completed, while others think it's BS. Personally, I've never seen any gain from it.

Well, it might be true. I had my venice 3000 for about a month, and initially I needed 1.52v just to run stable at 2.5ghz. Now, I can run stable at 2.6ghz using only 1.5v.

In my 6+ years of experience 'Burn-In' is a Myth. But, to each their own I guess. Whatever makes them feel better :)

What week is your chip? Is it an E6?

Here's my results on a week 25 of 2005 Venice:

Venice 3000+ on Abit AN8 Ultra w/ boxed cooler:

3000+ @ stock 1.8 Ghz, 1.41V : 26C idle, 35C load
3000+ @ 2.4 Ghz (282 X 8.5), 1.48V: 27C idle, 44C load
3000+ @ 2.52 Ghz (280 X 9), 1.52V 28C idle, 48C load **(not 100% Prime95 stable: runs for 1 hour then fails)
3000+ @ 2.6 Ghz (289 X 9): crashed with Prime95

Venice 3000+ on Abit AN8 Ultra w/ Thermalright XP-90 and 90mm 2500rpm fan:

3000+ 2.4 Ghz, 1.47V: 25C idle, 38C load
3000+ @ 2.6 Ghz, 1.61V: 25C idle, 45C load

I think it's a week 19 or 21 chip. Can't remember what I saw. And I don't know if it's an E6 chip.
