If anyone is looking to purchase a new CPU (or anything, really) I would strongly recommend you do not buy from Computer Craft, a Florida-based reseller. It advertises one of the lowest prices on Pricewatch (currently ten bucks less than I paid for my T-bird), however they are grossly un-prepared for the number of orders this seems to have garnered them. I live in Illinois, where the other cheapest resellers are, and rather than have to pay for shipping and sales tax and/or have to drive all over the place to get it, i did math and figured out this place would be cheaper. So i went to their website and made my purchases, opting for UPS ground since i was in no hurry (my other components weren't even ordered yet). I placed the order last Wednesday, March 21st, in the evening, assuming it would be processed the next business day.
Exactly 8 days later, my order still has not shipped. I've talked to the company twice, once on Wednesday, and once this afternoon. Both times the man i spoke to promised me my order would be shipping out that day. Their page states that it takes them 24-72 hours to ship, due to a high volume of orders. This would not bother me so much if i didn't already have my new case, motherboard, network card, video card, etc. I am itching to put this thing together, to the point where I almost tried to put my old k6-2 chip into the socket A on the new board.
I am at the point right now where I will cancel my order on Monday if, indeed, my components do not ship today. I'll then have to yell my way out of a restocking fee, despite never receiving my merchandise. I guess they don't need my business to survive, and with this lack of competence i will gladly take my monies elsewhere.
Once again, if you want your stuff anytime soon, don't buy from Computer Craft, Inc.
