Vendetta Online (Space MMO)

Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone plays Vendetta Online? I've been playing it for a while now (year or 2) and think it's awesome! It set in space has twitch combat and its available for PC, Mac, Linux, Android tablets/phones. What amazes me is that it's entire development team is just 4 guys! They have begun a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to port the game to iPads, update graphics and content. On the Kickstarter page there are some movies showing some of the game-play and graphics, plus some explanations of their plans for improving the game.

I'm not knocking Eve but there are a lot of former Eve players that play and many like it better. It's also less expensive, plus there are some amazing deals on the Kickstarter for cheap play time subscriptions.

Check it out at:

It's not my Kickstarter, I'm just a player who loves this game and would like the Kickstarter to succeed.

Not sure is there a monthly fee? Does it have Eve level conspiracies & drama?
I love the stories that come out of Eve but playing it....oh man...i simply can't.

They give you an 8 hour (in game play time) trial for free in which the clock starts ticking only after you leave the training sector. A monthly subscription is $10 USD, but less if you buy time in larger blocks like 6 months, 1 year, etc.

There are guilds and conflicts which can always cause some drama, but I doubt it's on the same level as you have experienced. You can be unguilded in this game and do just fine. I hope ya give it a try...

Hopefully not another hyped up game that fails to deliver.

Well, it has been chugging along for nearly 10 years. I'm not sure how you can really hype something that's been around so long, but I guess they're trying to get some new blood with mobile and kickstarter. The trial didn't really grab me when I tried it years ago. It is cool that the small indie team has managed to keep it going after all this time, considering how many bigger studio titles have come and gone during its run.

Tried to sign up, told me I already had an account. That has me thinking "I must have tried this at some point in the past and ended up not liking it."

Very good point.

Yeah I seem to remember this game during my days in EVE and shrugged it off as a wannabe. Now that I am done with EVE, and the fact they are trying to improve the game I will give it the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes new blood/fresh ideas/capital in the right hands can work miracles. I like what I saw. The combat looks far better than EVE's pathetic system, but lets see if they can put the meat on the bones and make it a real competitor in that genre. A real economy and a clearly defined plan is what I am waiting for,

Lets see if this pans out. Given that the OP looks to be part of their marketing team either willingly or not, I am very skeptical. Getting on a Steam is one thing, staying there is another animal.
