i can get the velodyne for $175 and the infinity for $210 both are 10inches and brand new. which one do you think sounds better? this is mainley for movies and a lil bit of music. i want it to sound clean and hit hard.

Check reviews of the specific models at AVSForum.com, crutchfield.com, Amazon.com

Infinity is a decent brand if you avoid the lowest-priced models, Velodyne has specialized in subs for many years and also has a decent reputation.

don't know about infinity but I would say that the Velodynes sound great. I've listened to a few of them; My roommate had one in college and he now has a bigger better one. I can't speak for Infinity, but Velodyne has at least two customers for life.

I have a velodyne VX10 paired up with my swan speakers.
Very low, punchy bass. I don't have much of a reference frame though, so I can't really give you a good review.

Give us dimensions of the room you're playing this in and tell us which walls open up to other rooms, along with the budget you had set aside for the subwoofer.
