While cutting the grass the other day, I noticed my neighbor and wife getting into their car wearing their bathing suits and carrying towels. I didn’t think much of it, but as I came back round with the mower 15 minutes later, I noticed them still there and they were both inside. With all the hoopla with leaving kids in cars on hot days, and the temperature around 95 degrees, I thought there could be a problem. I went over and knocked on the window. They rolled the window down and asked me if there was a problem. I expressed to them my concern. They told me they come out to their car and use the heat as a dry sauna and get a good sweat. They showed me they monitor the temperature with a thermometer and by rolling down a window if needed. It is an old black car that radiates a lot of inside heat, and they sit on towels to absorb the sweat. My only comment to them was: Perhaps you could lose the same amount of sweat by mowing your lawn and trimming your hedges?

I still give them an A for ingenuity.
