If your car has the following Specs...


Ground Clearance: 9.1 in.
Curb Weight: 4320 lbs.
Gross Weight: 5380 lbs


what kind of floor jack can you use?




 
Get an SUV jack, with a 3-1/2ton capacity, or one with at least a 21" lift height. 9.1 inches may be just enough to do things with out a jack, perhaps you can use some 12,000 rhino ramps for additional space. Make sure that if you get a jack, GET JACK STANDS TOO, they are very important. Costco sells a nice Larin 3-1/2ton jact for about $60, and jack stands you can get from walmart, sears, kragen.
 
i personally like hydraloulic (not even gunna try and spell that) floor jacks. bottle jacks piss me off if the not pnumatic. i don't trust the reliability of scissor jacks. hi-lift bumber jacks are good but good luck finding a car with a real bumper anymore.
