I'm in MD and I have been searching google for a list of exactly what is checked when something is inspected. Does anyone know if this information is publicly found on the internet? Thanks.

Are you referring to the emissions test or the state inspection that's required to register a used vehicle?

Yah I saw that, I was just wondering if there is something a little more specific than "electrical system" and those more general terms. I didn't realize the horn on my car is not working, and I want to know if it will pass inspection or not w/out it working (I doubt it will but I figured I'd ask).

It will not pass if your horn is not working.

If they bother to check it it won't pass. It really depends on how lazy/greedy the people doing the inspection are. I usually try to go to some filthy redneck looking place and they usually check to see if the lights work and call it good. When I've gone to a chainstore they check everything and try to find things to charge me to fix.

All depends on the place. The last time I inspected my motorcycle, they checked that my headlights and turn signals worked and that was it (I even did the operating). They're *supposed* to watch me ride it up and down the street to look for problems (for some reason). Never got anywhere close to doing that.

Well I just took it to my mechanic that does inspections and he told me he'd pass it w/out the horn working so that's good :)

It's still under warranty so I'm going to get it fixed as soon as I have time.
