i was really hoping for my five-thousandth post to be something special but here goes:

i'm looking for those of you that were formerly vegetarian and returned to eating the meat. i'd like you to tell me:

1) why did you go vegetarian in the first place?
2) why did you start eating meat again?
3) what can i expect if i go back to it?

:beer:cheers!

1) No particular reason (was vegetarian for 6 years).
2) I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail; it is nearly impossible for a vegetarian to consume enough protein while on such a rigorous hike (27mi/day, for 3mo). Our hike was sponsored by Oh Boy Oberto! as well, which didn't help matters. 😀
3) A lifetime of enjoying meat. I had steak today. 😉

Seriously, going back [to eating meat] is much ado about nothing. I had no problems "physically" readjusting, though I have had friends that had mental problems with it -- start with something simple, like chicken, rather than having a 1/2lb cheeseburger.

the problem with meat is that it isnt natural anymore. you have hormones and excessive yellow fat greasy on top of the meat *gross*
we could try fish? or natural grown chicken?

And just how do you know what meat looked and tasted like a hundred years ago before all the hormones and such?
