vegemite

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich

unless your Australien, your probably not going to like it.

 I'm not Australian.

I said probably.

Well you're wrong regardless, it's very popular over here.

If you say so. A group of friends and I tried it just for the hell of it a year ago. No one thought it tasted good, 1 person was indifferent.

And if you actually are from New Zealand, figures.

Yeah, when I was visiting Australia I tried it, and it was repulsive. I brought a few packets of it back (like what we serve jelly in over in America, only with Vegemite) and people that tried it either gagged or almost barfed. Worst, Food, Evar.

What figures? Yes I am from NZ.

I like vegimite & marmite. I wouldn't say it's an "acquired taste" because I always liked it. I don't really believe in anything being an acquired taste, it either tastes good or it doesn't.

Same region, similar culture, similar tastes. I'm not saying NZ and AUS are the same, but they're the same in a lot of ways. Similar to the US and Canada.

And IF I'm drastically wrong on this, I'm doing a study abroad program in AUS next year, and we're going to visit NZ on the way back. I'll find out 1st hand sooner or later.
