k guys... taking my cousin to Vegas for his bachelors party the weekend of March 4th. We bought tickets to the UFC 58 fight (not cheap I might add)... now looking for reservations for 9 people. Thinking about staying at the Hooter Hotel & Casino.

I'm checking http://www.lasvegas.com for room rates. Where else should I look?

Directly from the property website. Or if you have a players card with any casino, call the casino directly and ask them if they got a casino rate. The rate will be much better than any listed price.

...Or you can sit through a high pressure timeshare presentation, such as one found at Tahiti Village.

Try a program called TravelAxe - it searches all of the third party sites (Orbitz, hotels.com, etc) all within the program and presents you with the best rate it can find for each hotel. Freeware.

Also check the forums at vegasmessageboard.com and lasvegastalk.com - both have separate forums for hotel deals...some are definitely worth checking out!

http://www.cheapovegas.com for some reviews of the hotels. Hooters hotel is just some old hotel that was remodeled right?
How about the Flamingo, its in a good spot on the strip, a little older but affordable. You won't be staying in the hotel much anyway. You just sleep there. In my case 3 weeks ago, I slept maybe 8 hours in a total of 3 nights. Oh and don't forget to visit Spearmint Rhino 😉

Flamingo is in a great spot, and it's still a nice place, even with its age. We didn't stay in the hotel there but we did spend some time at the casino. Is George Wallace still performing there steady?

I'd get something right there on the strip or prepare for either cab fares or lots of walking. There are definately some reasonable rooms to be had.
