Stupid question... I'm trying to book a trip to Vegas, but not sure how long I'll be going there. Is 3 or 4 days enough time to spend there? It'll just be me and a friend

3 days is fine. If you are a big gambler, I would do 2 days. if you are big into show, book accordingly.

Are you going there to gamble, or are you going to do other stuff? (sight seeing, shows, clubbing, etc)

i think you need to take the total $ you are going to spend and divide by the $/hr you'll be losing and then multilpy by your bar tab and subtract the amount of money you spend on shows and subtract the amount your wife spends on shopping and total all that up and you'll get the number of days to stay

I'm not a big gambler, but I'll be gambling a little only because I'll be there.

I'll probably be doing some sight seeing. Not sure if I'll be watching any shows though.

By the way, anyone has experience from staying at the Wynn hotel?

Man, the Wynn? What a stupid place. It tries to be all ritzy and upscale but it's also understated about it. Who the hell wants to stay at an understated hotel in Vegas? I got lei'd by semi-topless chicks in roller skates when I checked into Caesar's Palace. Now THAT'S what you go to Vegas for.

And to answer your original question, no more than a long weekend. Vegas isn't designed to be taken in big doses. If you walk by one of those card-slapping guys more than 3 or 4 times without taking one, they will likely knife you, for starters.

I normally stay 5 days and four nights. This gives enough time to really gamble, take in a show or two and a nice dinner.

My wife and I got married there this last summer and stayed 8 nights.... though we weren't in town for 2 of those (Grand Canyon and Hoover damn). We don't gamble much so we watched shows and looked at all the sites. It was a blast.

I reckon that's just aboot right. Not too much and not too li'l.

Me rikey to look at short-term trips in terms of how many days sans travel since it is more to the point in figuring true leisure time. Id est, four nights is two days plus one where you are sad to be leaving the next day ;)
