I am going to Vegas on the 6th of July, after the the holiday weekend and I have a choice to stay at either the RIO - $49/night or Paris - $69/night.

I am wondering which would be better. Rio has all suites and Paris is Paris. Has anyone been to both and any opinions will help.

Also, I called the Venetian for any value deals for Sunday-Thursday and the rep told me that she would need a mailer code from me. She said there is one out for $59 a night from June-July. If anyone got this mailer, a pm of the code will be very appreciated.

Thanks.

it worth the extra bucks,

btw, which hotel search engine you used? 69 bucks per night is a pretty good deal.

Is Rio on the strip? I know Paris is on the strip. It's really nice and it's right in the middle of it all. I'd stay at paris

Rio is off the side somewhere. I think it looks pretty crappy and small casino too... but what do I know... I'm only a minor :p

Paris definitely, it's nicer and has a great location. Rio is OK but nothing special, having gone downhill ever since Harrahs took over. Rio's location sucks, it's not on strip though some places like Priceline will group it into the "strip zone".

The Paris hotel for $69 a night? Yeah, right..... More like $169. The RIO is full of 15 year old "finger puppets" who are barely old enough to grow pubes! I checked into that hotel once, and promptly checked out and stayed at a hotel with "adults". I'd recommend Mandalay Bay.

Paris is on the strip... Rio is a bit of a commute off (about 1/2 mile off the strip)... it's up to you.

Personally... i liked the paris better than the rio when i was there in may.

For those of you asking about Paris...

Sunday-Thursday only - Call 1-888-266-5487 and mention offer MPINAT5.

It was a mailer and they dont ask you for your players club card.

Thanks for the info. Are there any special rates for weekends with the code?

Paris without a doubt unless you're planning on spending a lot of time at the pool (which we personally did during the day, although at a different place - the Mirage and the Bellagio.) The pool at the Paris looked kinda crappy given the otherwise great amenities. The Rio looked to have a much nicer pool area. But the Paris just felt more upscale and if you're lucky enough to get a room facing the Strip (probably won't at that price, but it won't hurt to ask when you're checking in) then you'll be looking over at the Bellagio, Caesars, etc. One of the best views in Vegas and a MUCH better location than the Rio. That's a LONG hike from the main Strip when you've already been walking all over the place exploring the Strip.

I know everybody raves about the Rio buffet, but the Village Buffet at the Paris is usually listed among the tops too. We actually liked it better than the highly-acclaimed buffet at the Bellagio.

I've got a mailer from the Venetian for $119, but that's the only one I've found. $59/night must've been for some people who actually gambled there in the past. We didn't gamble there and I don't remember if the Venetian is owned by one of the big two corporations that owns all the other places (like MGM/Mirage/Bellagio and the one that owns Caesars/Paris/NYNY.) You might also consider the Mirage. We loved that place and I've seen $69/nights for them as well.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll go with Paris. I just thought a suite would be better than a deluxe room. I've been to the Venetian about 3 times and those rooms are NICE.

I've been to both Paris and Rio buffets, and I have to admit, the pricier one is better. Rio - Seafood. :)

I'm a meat eater too...but the crab mmmmmm

Paris

Once you're there you'll be glad you paid the extra $20/night to save yourself from walking an extra mile or two in 100+ degree weather.
