Vegas Hotel Tips

Friday and Saturday nights are the most expensive nights for any hotel on the strip. Your only real option for "cheap" hotels will be to go off the strip, maybe downtown, but most everything in Vegas goes up in price on the weekend. The Excalibur is one of the cheaper, if not the cheapest of the hotels on the strip. But again, its more on Fri and Sat then on Sun-Thurs

Barbary Coast would probably be the cheapest since it is one of the smaller and older hotels on the strip...as far as the nicer, bigger ones, Excalibur and Tropicana would be cheap as well...

Imperial Palace is a good bargain on the strip. Great location, so-so hotel.

If there's not a huge line of people waiting to check in, put a $20 bill on the counter and ask if there are any suites available for an upgrade.

lol you know how many people have a "VIP" card...vip means sh!t now because they exploited it so much. They got so many levels of vip now. I always hear from my friends "oh well this guy can get us in to vip"..i just laugh and listen to them complain the next day.

last time i was in vegas it was using a time share so i didnt have to shop around for hotels but i would check hotels.com . i have gotten great deals in the past through them in other cities.

it also smells like a retirement home and the customers look like they came from a trailer park in kentucky.

Too true. I avoid circus circus like the plague.

Seriously. Try the station casinos (other than GV Station, which is sweet but damn expensive) boulder/sunset/palace station are all fairly inexpensive IIRC, and Boulder / Palace aren't THAT far from the sites (especially palace) -- also, the orleans might be reasonable, fairly near the strip, and still a big casino.

Weekdays only

Most places - Casinos, motels & dumps will raise rates 2-300% for a weekend unless it is a holiday. Then even higher.

Bourbon Street is just off the strip (2-3 blocks) across from Ballys usually is a decent value.
