Was there over Thanksgiving with a good friend of mine for the first time in our lives. Stayed at the MGM and absolutly loved being there. Vegas kicks much ass and i plan on heading out there again sometime this year.

I've been there every summer for the past 5 or 6 years, sometimes twice in one summer.

I highly recommend the Paris Village Buffet. Its pricey, but it's really good and they have prime rib and made to order crepes (if thats your thing).

And go check out girls, girls girls! :)

axel: yea, I agree- the Paris buffet is pretty good, IF crepes are your thing. Their cafe is pretty good too- the one next to the buffet. You should also go try the Bellagio buffet... kinda pricey at $25 for dinner, but it's well worth it- the desserts are really really good. If you're looking for a good regular dine in restaurant, try Emeril's at the MGM Grand- that place is really good. Also try the WB Studio 16, or something like that at the Venetian. If drinking's your think, their Velvet Lounge seems pretty nifty, although I can't say anything about it from experience. There are lots of other stuff to do besides gambling, especially for food and shopping, which I am limited to since I'm underaged. I've been to Vegas at least a few times a year for the past few years. Weird since I'm only 20 :p Can't wait for New Year's this year- I'll be a little over 21 and a month old :p

There is so many good places in Vegas to eat, your head should spin... one of my favorite Mexican spots is Guadlajara's in Boulder and Palace Station casinos.

There's something I just love about Vegas (I go about 2-3 times a year, mainly for conventions). But everytime I go, I come back moneyless with nothing to show for it. That's not to say I didn't have a BLAST though.

I'm just a year shy of 21 still and I have found my ways around being underage in most of the places there.... The key is to act like you know what you're doing and no one really asks questions. Like, I was *pretending* to play the slots at Mandalay Bay (I hate gambling) and a server came up (nice a$$ on her BTW) asking me what I wanted to drink. You can't complain about free Heine's. :)

In fact, I think the only time I ever got carded in Vegas was on my trip to Spring Interop 2000. It was at a nudie bar (can't recall the name, but it definitely wasn't Crazy Horse) with one of my college professors and he had to pretend that he was my dad for the bouncer dude to let me in. Guess what? IT WORKED! Either that big guy was really nice and understanding, or he didn't know how to subtract when looking at my ID. Hahahaha.......that was a great time. I blew about $150 there. I guess you only live once.

One of the things I hate though is that every time I go to Vegas I have intentions to see some of the cool comedy shows in Vegas. Last time I was there, one of my heroes, George Carlin was there, and the damn show was sold out; that made me really sad!. If that doesn't happen, I end blowing so much money that I can't afford to buy a ticket to one of those shows.

Oh, and another thing....... They REALLY need to do something about the car rental business in Vegas. There's never ANYTHING available to rent unless you reserve months in advance. Unless you drive yourself, cabs get REALLY expensive (I think it's like $5 flag drop and $2.70 a mile or something like that.......ridiculous). If you end up having to resort to cabs, CARPOOL CARPOOL CARPOOL. Snag a minivan cab and share the fair with like 6 other people. That usually works out great.

I was just in Vegas for New Years, And a little conference ;) It rocked!! I won $600 playing blackjack over the course of a week, and hit another 160 in slots. (and i started with $100 so i'm happy). Oh yeah...an FYI....Go to the Monte Carlo Hotel, not so much to gamble even though it's one of the better casinos, but for the BREWERY!! It's this bad ass restuarant in their shopping center that makes it's own beer. They have one amazing bar, decently priced food, and here's a HOT DEAL for ya...they give out beer samples!! awww yeah. That's my favorite restaurant in Vegas for the past 4 trips. There's another one near the Atlantis show called the Ice Cream Factory or something like that...get DESSERT THERE! trust me.

SinnerWolf: you may have won $600, but how much was your hotel room just for Sat/Sun night? :p j/k I was there over New Year's too... actually, we just had a room for Friday night... drove back to LA on Saturday night, slept at home, then went back to Vegas around 6pm... got there around 10... boy was it crowded... had to walk probably a mile behind Luxor/Mandalay Bay to park on a sidestreet... fun though... seeing strangers walking around in their drunken stupor ;)

hehe, bUnMaNGo....well...i stayed at the Tropicana (cheapest on the strip for a big hotel). wasn't that expensive really. my company paid for the non-weekend nights. I also had one of those casino cards you use at the tables and the slot machines, which built up enough in credit to pay for the remaining weekend nights, otherwise i would have slept in the rental car!! (which my company also paid for....gotta love vegas!)

Well, just got back last night(1am EST.) and thank God I don't have to work today. Slept in till 11am which is late for me. Had a great time!!

Stayed at Paris. Very happy with everything there(rooms, food, casino). Went up in the tower to check the view, very cool.

Gambling: Pick up a players card and used it for everything. Did well with craps(won $575). Lost about $150 with BJ and another $100 in slots. I should get good room rate reductions for next trip.

Clubs: Went to RA at Luxor, it was off the hook. Great club if ya like hard tech/trance music. Voodoo Lounge at the Rio was pretty cool. More of a smaller chill lounge with a spectacular view(its on the very top of the tower). Went to Rum Jungle at Mandalay Bay Sat. night, which was a little to packed. The club is not laid out very well, hard to get around. Music was more house, which was pretty good. Biggest regret was not makin it to Club Utopia on Sat night for DJ Christopher Lawrence. I was looking forward to it, but we had a big crowd and more people wanted to go to Rum Jungle.

Other: Did the Bellagio dinner buffet, and it was the BEST by far. Hung at the Mandalay sports book for the super bowl, that was fun(lost only $15 b/c I had proposition bets to cover my sh!tty giants bets). Did the Hoover Dam, very cool.

Now its back to reality :(
