There's something I just love about Vegas (I go about 2-3 times a year, mainly for conventions). But everytime I go, I come back moneyless with nothing to show for it. That's not to say I didn't have a BLAST though.
I'm just a year shy of 21 still and I have found my ways around being underage in most of the places there.... The key is to act like you know what you're doing and no one really asks questions. Like, I was *pretending* to play the slots at Mandalay Bay (I hate gambling) and a server came up (nice a$$ on her BTW) asking me what I wanted to drink. You can't complain about free Heine's.
In fact, I think the only time I ever got carded in Vegas was on my trip to Spring Interop 2000. It was at a nudie bar (can't recall the name, but it definitely wasn't Crazy Horse) with one of my college professors and he had to pretend that he was my dad for the bouncer dude to let me in. Guess what? IT WORKED! Either that big guy was really nice and understanding, or he didn't know how to subtract when looking at my ID. Hahahaha.......that was a great time. I blew about $150 there. I guess you only live once.
One of the things I hate though is that every time I go to Vegas I have intentions to see some of the cool comedy shows in Vegas. Last time I was there, one of my heroes, George Carlin was there, and the damn show was sold out; that made me really sad!. If that doesn't happen, I end blowing so much money that I can't afford to buy a ticket to one of those shows.
Oh, and another thing....... They REALLY need to do something about the car rental business in Vegas. There's never ANYTHING available to rent unless you reserve months in advance. Unless you drive yourself, cabs get REALLY expensive (I think it's like $5 flag drop and $2.70 a mile or something like that.......ridiculous). If you end up having to resort to cabs, CARPOOL CARPOOL CARPOOL. Snag a minivan cab and share the fair with like 6 other people. That usually works out great.
