Vega 64 Prices

Looking at Newegg today for Vega 64 cards I notice price differences between manufactures of as much as $300 for what appears to be cards with the same specs.
Is there any reason not to buy the least expensive card?
What are the pros and cons of the high and low cards?
 
High inventory. AMD cards were mining cards. Now that the market is gone they have excess inventory. The term fire comes to mind when thinking of the future of GPU's from both AMD and Nvidia.

Yes. Vega64 is a big, power-hungry GPU, and you want one of the higher-quality AIB models with a good cooler on it.

Sapphire Nitro and Powercolor Red Devil are the best models, AFAIK. The ASUS Strix model is just OK. Gigabyte's version of the card is reportedly the worst (which is also probably why it's usually the cheapest).

I really like my Nitro, but like it has been said, it's huge and power hungry at full throttle, although at idle or just browsing the web, it runs at about 28C and is silent.
 
I have a reference design Sapphire model 64 and while it's still working pretty well it can certainly get up in the low 70's at full tilt. Great card though and is quieter and cooler than the Limited Edition card I had for a few months.

that makes me feel better, as i just got a saphire reference 64 to pu tin the new build

Just be sure to use two separate cables to the card and you'll be fine. The cooler does make some noise but it's nowhere near as loud as some of the previous reference designs.

you mean 2 separate power cable? if so got it
 
yea use two 8-pin cables from the PSU. I used one that had two 8 pin ends and it actually fried the connector at the PSU end after a couple of weeks. the card really does pull a ton of power without undervolting. I actually benched the card on another setup and superposition actually caused the lights in the room to flicker a little lol
