Vector is trying to make a comeback

Some of you might remember the Vector W2 from back in the late 80's and early 90's. It looks like the company is trying to make a comeback. And take a shot at the Bugatti Veyron.

Supercharged 10 Liter V-8 with a claimed 1850hp and 275mph top speed.

The Achilles heel of the original was its automatic transmission from GM. Hopefully they've upgraded that. I think they'll need a DSG style transmission in that high end market at this point.

They're also facing more competition this time around, even from other domestics, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT and Saleen S7. Of course you have the Bugatti Veyron, Koenigsegg, Ferrari FFX, Lamborghini Reventon, plus a few others that I can't think of right now. It seems like a crowded market for $500k to $1M range.

The numbers I heard that the car was going to have were closer to 550HP N/A and 800HP super or turbo charged. And was going to be based on the LS7.

They may have several engine variations. Maybe there will be an option for an LS7 based model at the low end and then bigger and/or with forced induction from there.
