While playing different games, and normal use, and even a couple "stability" tests I noticed what I think are highly irregular fluctuations in the VDDC Current readings in GPU-Z
So my system:
ASRock Extreme4
Seasonic X650 Gold
i5-3570k @ 4.0ghz - Stock voltage settings
8gb G.Skill 1600 DDR3
MSI Radeon 7950 3GB Twin Frozr3 - 1100/1250 @ 1.050v +20 Power
Crucial M4 SSD
WD Blue HDD
I run a 24" 1920x1200 as primary monitor and a 19" 1280x768 secondary
I play games full screen on the 24" and have other things like GPUz or Team Speak, etc open ont he 2nd monitor.
When playing World of Tanks I noticed some major spikes in the VDDC Current in GPUZ... It would fluctuate from 50-60A then SPIKE to 124-128 for only 1 sensor cycle then back to the 50-60A for a while and then repeat. It does this consistently for the entire time I am playing the game. There are not drops in the voltage or clock speeds at the same time, only the VDDC Current seems to be changing. I have had WOT crash a few times but don't know if its related to this or just poor coding in the game(recent update). GPU Load does not goto 100% in this game even at max settings it fluctuates quite a bit from 50-80%.
This does not happen in normal use in windows browsing the web or playing a flash game, the VDDC Current is steady at around 19-21A during those activities...
I loaded up Far Cry 3 and played for about an hour keeping a close eye on the VDDC Current there... In that game in stayed steady in the 105-110A range the entire time, no spikes. GPU Load does stay near 100% while playing this.
I have run all kinds of stability tests and never had graphic errors or crashes (Furmark, OCCT GPU, Heaven, MSI Kombuster) all worked fine with 0 crashes or graphic artifacts. I have run Prime95 and IBT for hours with no crashes or errors.
Do I need to worry about this? Could these spikes cause damage to my GPU? I dont know if the World of Tanks crashes are b/c of this or not, WOT had a big patch recently and its been crashing since then, don't remember having issues before....
