VCR tapes to DVD's

Hey guys, i am wanting to convert some old tapes to dvds. I know there are many ways to go about doing this, and am wondering what has worked well for you guys. First off, i have an ATI TV wonder capure card in my computer. How would the picture look comming from that? I know that the tv picture isn't the greatest, but i dont' know if you would be able to get a better picture using some of the newer types of cards. I will probably use my Studio 9 to do the capturing unless you guys know of something better. Anyways some of the capture devices i am looking at are Kworld Xpert DVD (wich i have heard mixed reviews about :S ), or Dazzle DVC-120 Digital Video Creator 120-which clames you can restore damaged videos. Basicly i am looking for any advice you would have in what i should get or stay with. Thanks.

I transfered my vcr tapes to my minidv recorder. Firewire transfered the minidv to Adobe Premiere for editing. Then to a dual layer dvd.
Quality was one step under the original vhs. Probably from the vhs to minidv transfer.

I just picked up the Plextor convertX Text for $100 from FS/FT forum and have already captured and converted a few hrs of video from both my older JVC S-VHSC camcorder and new JVC DV camcorder and it is great. It even hardware encodes DIVX. The quality of the video is excellent after conversion too.
