I've been reading around and it says vcore makes your computer more stable. If so mines is only at 1.7 and they said it should be at least at 1.85. I'm guessing this is why my computer has been crashing on me during games. Is this true please confirm it with me. I don't want to kill my computer or anything i'm poor.

VCore is the voltage supplied to the processor core.

If you have a Athlon then the VCore is 1.75V normally, if you are overclocking then one way to help with stability of the processor is to increase the Voltage to the processor - VCore. If you increase this then you should also have good cooling because the more voltage you put through the processor, the hotter it gets.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, i've got a volcano 7 and i'm running at around 50 so i should be fine by my computer has been crashing alot. I've got a atlon 1.4 266fsb do u think by increasing this it well be more stable for me even though i don't overclock. I can't seem to play a game for longer than 30 mins. Well at least not any of the newer games like medal of honor, alien vs predator 2, et...And my computer is crappy either. I've got a geforce 3 ti200 with sound blaster live, running the ga-7vtxe with 512 megs ddr. I hope this does the trick for me as a matter of fact i'm going to go try it rite now.

Owell...i decided not to try it because my cpu temp was only at 65 which is the highest i've gotton ever. And i didn't want to kill my cpu so i decided not to try it. Went back down to 1.75 to cool off my cpu. Hmmm....do u guys think its my crappy superlink powersupply. I think i'm going to get an enermax to see if it works out. Do i need to do anything special before installing the power supply. Let me know guys and gals.

That processor, the athlon 1400, kicks out about 76W of heat. If you want to get anymore out of the processor you should get a new heatsink or a watercooling setup, either way it seems to me far too much work for the benefit you'll get.

AthlonXP1700 running at 1467 (?) physical speed ... superlink 320w powersupply feeding a constant 1.744v to the Vcore.

my systems stays around mid 50s... usually 52 -> 54C

You could try:

Making sure you have the latest NVidia video drivers

Making sure you have DirectX 8.1 installed

Updating the bios for your motherboard

Making sure you have the latest driver for your sound card

Checking for IRQ conflicts

I doubt it's this but you could try it and see

Here are some more troubleshooting steps you could try

I doubt it has anything to do with your CPU's voltage
