I was wondering if there is any negative effect to using auto voltages when overclocking. Should I manually adjust or leave it on auto for the most optimal voltages for the settings? Just curious.
auto is safe...it will read the chip on the actual ram stick to set it..It likely will be what the report as stock vdimm....I would manually set it so you know the board is not mucking something...Mos mdern pc3200 can do 2.8v safely....ONce you get above 2.9v the ram may need to be more actively cooled...
What about the CPU voltage? Im running an Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester at 2.4ghz (240x10).. whats the downside to using auto voltages with the CPU? Just curious.
nothing if it also reads it right....It just read the cpu and gets it vcore set form there....I again also set it directly to stock 1.4v...depending on the mobo it may deliver quite a bit less then that actually....
