Hello guys. I got an E6300 running at 3.0GHz (P5B deluxe) I was just a little worried about the voltage, I am only giving it 1.3250, is that too low?? I mean the system is running perfectly without any problems. I guess i am a little concerned because people that are running that kind of speed with this CPU are running at least 1.4+V

is there any program that can test the stability of the cpu??? thx a lot

If you're getting no Orthos errors on it, just be glad you've got a good overclocker!

You shouldn't necessarily need 1.4 to get 3Ghz with the E6300, a lot of people can get that on stock, and even when undervolting it.

ya, I am running Orthos now and it seems fine after lowering the cpu voltage even less (1.25) , I will just wait and check for errors now, thx guys

Restart it a few times and see if it starts up okay. If it's good 3 times in a row I'd say you're fine.

I ran orthos and it gave me an error after 45 minutes
2:FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
2:Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
2:Torture Test ran 47 minutes 34 seconds - 1 errors, 0 warnings.
2:Execution halted.

1:Torture Test ran 47 minutes 34 seconds - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
1:Execution halted.

Surprisingly, the CPU was at 53C at full load which is could, but I have no clue why I got that error

It is because the processor is under LOAD, and it requires more voltage to run.
That is why you got the errors. It is not about the temperature.
Rise the vcore a little bit, go up 0.05 until it is stable.

hi, i have the same problem as yourself, did you find out how to fix it?

EDIT - mine seems stable though after 1 hour of TAT Orthos or dual Prime, only problem is the voltages dropping

If you have 'intel speed step' enabled in the bios then it will drop your voltages.

But, if you have no errors you are better off with lower voltages.

To fix the vdroop on a P5B Deluxe:

Take a number 2 pencil and shade in the resistor in the top right hand corner in this pic, where it says "Vdroop mod".

The area is located to the right of the socket. It's easy to find because of the row of black resistors at the top.

You may need to bump up your vDIMM, not necessarily your vCore.

I got my 6300 @ 3.01 ghz with 1.300 vCore, runs dual Prime 95's stable for 20 hours. I have my vDIMM @ +0.2v though.

With your PNY RAM, you'll likely have to run your memory timings at 5-5-5-15, if not 5-6-6-18, to get very far above 400 Mhz reliably. It most likely has Promos IC's, which don't overclock well.
