What should the vcore voltage be for an AMD tbird 1.4gig (266) ? Mine's currently running on auto detect and reading 1.79! Is this optimal? The Mobo is a Giga-Byte GA7DXR . Thanks in advanced for any help
The lower you can run your vcore and still be stable, the better. Less voltage means less heat, so try dropping it down a little and see if its stable. I'm running my t-bird at 1.35 ghz @ 1.74 vcore.

Its normal for most mobo to add between 0.05v-0.1v to the vcore set for improve stability. U r perfectly normal here. The default vcore for a 1.4 Ghz is at 1.75v.
