My e6400 is OC to 2.8ghz.
It is very stable.
I was hoping to lower my voltage to reduce my temps.
I am able to set my vcore to 1.2625 and it runs very well. Any lower and one core on prime95 just stops running iterations.
My peak temps are a bit lower, but my idle temps are higher.
I found that this is because in auto when my computer goes idle or the proc is not being used much the system drops the voltage way down and and makes it hover around 2.1ghz.
As soon as I start doing stuff my voltage shoots to 1.288 and back to 2.8ghz. Idle temps are a good 5c lower when it does that. Once I have locked in manual vcore it doesn't drop and thus runs higher idle.
So now I am not sure if running my vcore on manual is worth it since there is no savings during idle or low use only heavy use.
Thoughts?
