Today i decided to see what i can get out of my aging xp2500 barton. I can get to the windows xp pro logo screen at 200x11, but it crashes there and reboots. I'm so far stable at 190x11 running prime95 torture test for past hour with a consistent temp of 48-50C, but every once in a while the temp will jump straight to 60-62C for 5 seconds and the back to 48-50. I cant figure out how to adjust the vcore in the bios, its set at the stock 1.63 and I cant change it. I'm sure i could get it stable at 2.2ghz if i could bump the vcore slightly, but is my motherboard too crap to get there, or is there some secret to adjusting the vcore? All help appreciated.

The changing temp thing makes me think your sensor(or software, but more likely sensor) is bad. Otherwise, I dont know what to tell you.
