just wondering whats the actual vcore for athlon, mine is a 650 .18 core.

isn't 1.6, or is it 1.65.
in my abit ka7-100 m/b if u define vcore as 1.55, the voltage monitors in the bios health status
shows 1.6, i set 1.6 it shows 1.65, i.e always a 0.5 higher always that i define, is it because
the power supply giving slightly higer voltages, even the i/o voltage behaves the same way. i set
3.3 it shows 3.34. or is it the probes showing more.

can i just set at 1.55 (1.6 as monitored) and 3.2 (3.26).

also after a few hrs of usage, the cpu temp is about 45C at vcore of 1.65 (actual, st is 1.6)

pl. help.

Classic Athlons:
up to 800Mhz:1.65
800Mhz higher : 1.8V not sure about 800Mhz but very sure that 900 plus runs at 1.8V
I have a 750 and at non overclocked, it was running at 1.65V. Of course at 1018, it is running at 2.05V

Ok, the 800, 850, and 900 run at 1.7v by default. The 950 and 1ghz run at 1.8v.

MagnusPAH- You need to run 2.05v on your 750@1018...that seems kinda high. What are you using for cooling? I am running my 850@1013 with only FSB adjustment, and I am actually pretty stable at 1.85v. I am running 1.9v now 'cause I had some random crashes. I am running air cooling and I run 78-84F at idle with Prime95 running, and after heavy gaming I top out at 90F. What are your temps?

Hey Insane,

Well I could run it at 950 at 2.0V but hitting the Gig is my goal. I have a crappy core. It is a 750 core with SEC 300Mhz cache. To get past a Gig I have to up the voltage to 2.05V. However, since I have a dual peltier cooled by a water cooler (Swiftnet), I manage to keep the core to 78-82F during idle and 98-102F during full-load. These temperatures are OK with me. However, I know that the major culprit in keeping the temperature so high during full load is the water. It gets pretty hot after an hour or so of use. I am in the process of having 2 small water coolers and 2 72W peltiers cooling down the water reservoir. Essentially I will have 2 water/peltier cooling units working on the computer, the main to cool the cpu and the auxiliary to cool the water. I will try for a 1.1G once I establish cooler water temp.

Magnus PAH-

I never go above 92F while running Prime95 torture test and playing Q3 or something similar, even at 1.9v. I was realy unstable for awhile, but I traced the problem to some fans. I had replaced the YS tech's with those Delta fans that spin upwards of 6800RPM. After that I was really unstable, but cool. I finally figured out, with Viper GTS's help, that those fans draw too much current to be plugged into the mobo fan headers. I replaced the YS tech's and TADA everything is fine now. I was really stumped with that one 'cause I really didn't expect fans to make a system unstable, but we know how picky the Athlon is with voltage. I am not sure what core I have, but I can actually boot into Windows with 120fsb, it just doesn't last too long. I hear people say they can't get over 105fsb, so I wonder what sort of core I have. Good luck with your set-up!

Why would my Aopen motherboard monitor and my bios be reporting my vcore to be 1.75,I have a 650 with a 650 core and right now its not overclocked and is running at 100f w a room temperature of about 80f. I took it apart just to find out what core I had. No goldfinger as of yet.

My KA7 always sets the voltage to .05 higher than is set in the bios, also. Can anyone tell me what their 2.5V Value is using the Via HWM. Mine is always around 0.29. Everyting is working okay so I haven't worried about it too much.
