Hmmm, picked up the $99 deal at fry's, and I've got it running at 3.2ghz at stock voltage.

However, I want more ^_^

The board (an ECS 7050vt-m with 610i chipset) doesn't have a vcore adjustment in bios...

Trying to figure out if there is some other alternative to adjust the vcore.

Main question is I'm wondering if there is any possible pin mods (like the BSEL mod or something) to select a higher default voltage, say 1.275 or 1.3 for example. (Chip is an e7200) ^_^

If not I wonder if any crazy people have tried flashing the bios to say, the evga 610i board's bios or another manufacturer's that has vcore adjustment. Just figure it's worth exploring

/grin

Google wasn't able to pull up much, and I'm not holding my breathe, but I figure there's prolly a few others who picked up the same deal and are wondering the same thing :)

I watch Frye's with every issue of the LA Times. And I see those combo deals.

Maybe some of them are OK. They're especially OK if you arent' intending to over-clock. And there are some really cheap boards out there that you can get which allow you to do "tongue-in-cheek" overclocking. We found a Gigabyte mATX board that provides what we needed or wanted for about $60 or $70.

I don't know what to say about flashing another 610i bios onto the board. I know about as much as you do, to speculate about the possibility. But possibility isn't certainty.

Maybe someone else has more insight about this.

I can say that if I wanted to do even moderate over-clocking, I'd be sure and get a board that has a track record. The tip-off about "possibilities" with our GA-73VM-S2 mATX boards --- also 610i boards -- was in the specs: it says "1,333 Mhz FSB (OC)." But even so, while you can change the RAM timings, you can't change the RAM voltage -- you can only change the VCORE.

Power to the People, and Good Luck to you, Bro'.

Yes, you can do pad-mods on LGA775 chips to change the default Vcore. Seach for them.

Sigh not a "search for it" reply ;p. I've searched, Problem is I can't find any pin mods for the new chips. They are all for the old conroe chips. Oh well, I shall keep looking!

Hmmm, anyone have any pad mods for vcore on the 45nm chips? =p There seems to be a ton of info on modding the 65nm chips, but there's nothing out there for 45nm chips ^_^
