VCI setting of Alcatel USB DSL Speed Touch USB Modem

I have an "Alcatel USB DSL Speed Touch USB Modem"

Current the modem's VCI=38, but i need to change it to 35 to work for my region. Is there a program to change the VCI ?

Thanks

Read the manual? Generally you'd need to log into the device if it has a telnet function, or direct connect if it has a serial port for maintenance, or possibly some dip switches. Otherwise, it's probably auto-detect capable.

Unfortunately it's not auto detect otherwise it would changed into 35 already.

Can you plz explain how to do those steps if you don't mind. Sorry i'm a noob about those stuff.

For a usb device, I am not sure how to get in. My only suggestion is the factory provided software, which you would use to upgrade the firmware or change configuration. Did it come with an install CD?

i got it off ebay, so yeah there was no driver. However, the latest driver from SPeedtouch website doesn't allow changing VCI neither.

Run regedit and find the following key:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Alcatel\SpeedTouchUSB\Phonebook\0001\Vpivci_VCI

Change it to 35.

If you aren't experienced with editing the registry then PM me with your e-mail, and I'll send you a config file which should sort it out for you.

I changed it to 35 (tried both hexadecimal and binary) but it still wont' work 🙁
I don't think we can just edit the registry, but gotta flash the firmware ?

Thanks
