VCDs

Depends on the player. Look at the specs for whatever one you have.
Generally, VCDs will play on most newer players, and SVCDs only on some of them.

Some players can be picky about the media used, as well. My Toshiba doesn't like cheapo generic CD-Rs as much as Taiyo Yudens.
 
Ha, right after I wrote this I did a google search and landed on vcdhelp.com.
