Anyone has any good software to recommend?

I'm doing a presentation on MOnday and I was thinking of including some video clips from this VCD I'm reviewing into the powerpoint presentation.

And I've got no idea how.
Everywhere I look, all I see is DVD rippers or CD to mp3 software.
Anyone?

If the s/w is good, I'll even pay for it.
