VCD software Needed !

Can anyone recommend me some software to help me create a VCD which I can put in my DVD player and watch the content ?

I have AVI/MPEG files which I would like to watch on my DVD player (Top Gear etc) but all I know is how to writ ethe files to disc which doesn?t work, any ideas

Okay, the full reply:

First off, for encoding/converting audio the best program you can really get, for free anyway, is the shareware version of TMPGEnc. It's simple to use and works well. I can also suggest you try making KVCDs if you don't like the quality of the VCDs you make, but there's about a 15% chance they won't work in your DVD player.

To burn them I suggest VCDEasy v1.1.1. Don't upgrade to the new version, as it has a 200mb filesize limit. This version lets you insert chapters, which is nice. If you can't burn directly you can create a disc image to use with whatever burning program you have.

Additionally, Nero does some nice stuff with Menus, if you have it. But the above two programs are completely free.
