I have a couple of movies burned on CD's but i do not have a VCD player to play them with. Could somebody please point me in the right direction, or give me some kind of clue as to how to play the movies. Thanks a lot.

How are the movies burned? By that I mean what format are the files in?

Normally you can play it using your Windows Media Player... It should be able to play *.dat files from a VCD and *.mpg movies...

what BCYL said is correct, but if you wish to actually buy a player, one of my friends stumbled across a rather interesting device, while he was on holidays somewhere in china. he found a discman that can be plugged into a TV and read video cds. this player could also read mp3s directly of a cd which is also pretty cool. but the only problem was, it had terrible anti-shock, if you picked it up, it would freeze for about 20 seconds. it was made by some company that i have never heard of, Bandi or something like that.

Gorgonzola:

Yeah, they have tons of those players in Asia... But most of them are no-name-brands, thus absolutely no warranty... Even if the front says Sony, or Panasonic, or some other major brand, it is likely just a no-name-brand player with a sticker on (no seriously, some of them even ask u which sticker you want and stick it on in front of you)...

If you wanna tell which is the real deal and which are fakes, just look at the price... The real ones usually sells around $150 CAN, while the fake ones sell for less than $100 CAN... Also most big stores only carry real ones too...

And most of them discman VCD players comes with remote control too, so it's just like any normal player... They don't really expect you to carry them around, just plug it into your TV and leave it there...
